Sculpted corbels on a bay window of a French Renaissance style tenement on Queen's Drive in Glasgow. These figures are of Hugh Wilson (on the left) who built it, and William Whyte (on the right), who designed it. This habit of architects and/or builders featuring themselves on the buildings they create is known as self-insertion, and it's not as unusual as you might think.

Glasgow might not be know for its dragons, but they turn up on a surprising number of our buildings. This cute little fellow is on the 1894 Cardell Halls on Govan Road, and it looks like it's just woken up!

Lovely day today once the fog lifted. I do admit to very cold tootsies by the time I finished my walk around the river. The walk was fabulous though & just what I needed, the sun came out about 3/4 of the way & it was very appreciated. Explored some areas that before & during Covid some rough sleepers had taken over & who have now gone elsewhere & found a whole area, very old with a couple of broken down picnic tables & a council sign explaining the wetlands, all which have sadly deteriorated - but the council has been doing a lot of work in the whole area. Im looking forward to seeing what eventuates over time. Saw a whole mob of kangaroos checking me out & was interested in seeing the new display near the river.

and I had a date day today where we blew glass together, made some cups and pulled some tubes!
I used some of my silver an gold loaded glass color rods :) We made lots of fun, tricolor tubes. SOme of them broke and left behind pretty shards (I am learning to not skimp on color with these).
We also got lunch an dinner together in downtown Brooklyn.
Its fun being in the hotshop! Hot glass is mesmerizing an neat! I really have a stretched bubble habit.
