Together with his wife, Lora, they built a house, where, besides , practiced and .

I feel like there is something amazingly mindful about this way of being and practicing . The love for life that carries you forward. The thirst for the present instead of the thirst for the material, extraneous, socially imposed. The treasure of a memory, an image, a sound, a feeling. The ability to tune in with the world around you and truly appreciate the momentum.

Bronze statue of aristocratic boy, Roman Classical period (27 BCE to 476 CE)

Visited with students and gave slide talks two days ago- and pulled tubes with some very talented students yesterday. Gonna give another demo for UW glassblowing students today.

It's like my birthday came early with the tubes. Gonna make a video at some point to share the glassblowing fun- but Amber an Skye were SO helpful, with Amber having blown glass since they were very young, and learning to pull tubes from my favorite tube puller in Tacoma.

I saw wonderful undergrad and graduate student work, seen here are Amber's "two truths and a lie" tubes covered in black glass powder and resist sandblasted through (I pulled some of that black/ brown). A studio visit with Morgan, a third year grad student was very neat- their ceramic and neon sculptures playing with texture, dementia, memory, and structure- integrating the neon and clay quite nicely.

"A genius way to protect the ocean" 11:14 min
by Planet Wild

Quote by PW:
"Nov 15, 2024
The Mediterranean Sea is in crisis. Once a thriving spot for biodiversity, it is now the most overfished sea in the world and, according to the WWF, is "on the verge of burnout."
Why Bottom trawlinga destructive fishing method where nets are dragged along the seabed, catching or destroying everything in their path.
For our 21st Planet Wild mission, we're supporting a beautiful and effective method to stop bottom trawling and protect marine life: an underwater sculpture museum.
Many thanks to the five selected artists who donated their work to the museum: Nikolas Maniatakos, Maria Grazia Collini, Abdulkadir Hocaoglu, Stefano Corti, and Giacomo Bernardi.
A special thanks to Greenpeace, Camilla Salghetti, Barbara Farnetani and Santiago Burin Des Roziers for providing us with additional footage."

After being born in Unbound, it's time for him to explore the world of Blender.

I realized that I had totally forgotten to add some nostrils in the Unbound version. So I added those in Blender now, along with a tail.

Memorial to John Stewart who founded the City of Glasgow Friendly Society in 1862. This sculpture, on the city's Douglas Street, is by William Kellock Brown. The aim of the City of Glasgow Friendly Society was to 'enable members of the industrial classes to arrange with one another for mutual aid during sickness or on the arrival of old age'.

In the backyard of the Amsterdam Museum (formerly known as Hermitage) you can find some metal beasts, made by artist Junk-Art.
The sculptures are handmade, sustainable, and the material they use is steel. Its including sources such as bolts, gears, all sorts of motor parts, horseshoes and metal scraps.

I've never been too clear exactly what these animals on the front of the former bank building at Bridgeton Cross are, but I love them none-the-less.

Prometheus a sculpture from two years ago. Now I'm thinking Elephantman

"From different angles, no clear head or foot, punctured slits and holes.. Prometheus tends to change its shape. Opening.. and closing
Together with the constant change in light, during night and day and its geometric perforated shell Prometheus creates a changing play between shadow and light."

Vernica.

A National Cycle Networt Millennium Mile Post on the Clyde Walkway in Glasgow. Erected in 2000, this is one of four post designs. It was created by Andrew Rowe, and is based upon the nautical and industrial heritage of his native Swansea. A programme to repaint as many of the mile posts as possible began in 2021, with each one being painted in its own unique way.
