Cube at the TU Noord Campus in Delft ( the Delft University of Technology) for the student housing company DUWO, currently working on some new exiting commissions for public sculptures. We are staying in Brussels and with the Olympus Trip 35...

It's all in the details...
At the moment, Im carrying the Olympus Trip 35 in my pockets again.
Its a very pleasant little camera, and it had been quite a while since I last used it.
Usually I carry a half-frame camera with me, but during these dark grey days in Belgium I just dont manage to fill those 72 frames quickly enough. This way, though, I get to dive back into my Trip 35 archive again!

Certaines uvres ne prennent pas de place : elles prennent lair.
Avec un simple fil de fer, Roberto Fanari dessine dans le vide comme on griffonne sur un carnet un trait qui schappe, une silhouette qui apparat, et soudain un personnage se tient l, lger, presque en suspension.
On ne regarde plus seulement une sculpture : on surprend un croquis devenu vivant.

THE OMEGA 137BR

A successful, fully conscious transfer. This Omega was discovered in a collapsed section of the NW territory Vancity center. This Omega pod had been part of the biomech sector production group at the latter part of the Conflict.

Nice to bump into this sculpture of the "The Shipboys of Bontekoe" in Hoorn. Hajo, Rolf, and Padde, three 14yo boys part of the crew of a ship that sailed across the oceans to Indonesia in 1628.
> During that trip one of the crew dropped a lit candle into a cask of brandy, which caused a fire that ultimately made the powder kegs explode. Fifty-five sailors, including the captain, survived and reached Batavia Bontekoe managed to get home via China, almost being shipwrecked once more along the way. He returned to Hoorn, which he never left again his journal became a bestseller. -- !
Bontekoe's journal was also the basis of the childrens book by Johan Fabricius that I read as a kid -- sweet memories. Turned into a movie in 2007.

Meta Vaux Warrick Fuller was born in Philadelphia, PA on June 9, 1877. Her parents were successful entrepreneurs within the hair care industry and prominent members of Philadelphia's high society. She attended the Pennsylvania School of Industrial Art, for which she won a scholarship. In 1899, the young student went to Paris where she became acclaimed for the "audacity" of her sculptures. While there, she had a rapport with the famed sculptor, Rodin, and sought his critique of her workto which he proclaimed, "Mademoiselle, you are a sculptor' you have the sense of form in your fingers."

In 1909, Meta Vaux Warrick married Dr. Solomon C. Fuller the first Black psychiatrist in the U.S. and a pioneer in neurological studies. She later had three sons and made a home with her family in Framingham, MA. In 1910, a disastrous fire destroyed some of her most valuable artworks held in storage in Philadelphia. Only a few examples of her early work remain.

Through the years she kept many diaries, often writing about her daily life, art-making, and poetry. Despite losing most of her early work, she persisted as an artist and went on to receive many awards and commissions during her career.

A beautifully sculpted lion around the entrance to the red sandstone Gothic style chapel in the Western Necropolis in the Lambhill area of Glasgow. Designed by James Chalmers, it was built in the 1890s.
