Eos, Goddess of the Dawn, riding her quadriga across the sky on the corner of Gordon Street and Renfield Street in Glasgow. It was created by William Birnie Rhind when this building was converted into a department store for R.W. Forsyth by John James Burnet in the 1890s. This sculpture is repeated on the acid-etched window at the western end of the same building.

On dirait bien que je suis en train de bricoler un satellit'oiseau.
De lart de lphmre et du recyclage au Japon.
Chaque automne, dans la prfecture de Niigata, au nord du Japon, se clbre labondance de la rcolte du riz avec le Wara Art Festival (), un festival de lart de la paille aussi spectaculaire que surprenant, loccasion duquel des tonnes de rsidus issues des rcoltes de riz sont transformes en immenses sculptures.
Des lphants imposants aux cratures mythiques espigles, chaque sculpture est soigneusement ralise(...). Nichs au cur des rizires pittoresques de Niigata, ce festival met en avant le dveloppement durable en transformant des rsidus agricoles en uvres dart inspirantes. Exemple parfait de la manire dont la crativit peut tout la fois clbrer la culture et sensibiliser la protection de lenvironnement (Street Art Utopia).
Lhistoire du festival dbute en 2006, lorsque des habitantes de Niigata dcident de donner une seconde vie la paille de riz. Avec lappui de la Musashino Art University, les premires sculptures gantes voient le jour en 2008. Depuis, chaque automne, tudiants en art et bnvoles locaux travaillent main dans la main pour raliser des uvres monumentales phmres, mlant technique de lartisanat ancestral et crativit artistique contemporaine.
