However, Father Clyde is generally depicted as a knarled old man with long flowing hair and beard, while this figure appears to be much younger and more feminine. So maybe, to quote the song by Michael Marra (and probably most famously sung by Hue and Cry), it represents Mother Glasgow, rather than Father Clyde.
Love this keystone head over an arched window on the 1870s Merchants' House in Glasgow, particularly the pair of fish in the hair, which appear to be holding a ring. This type of decoration is usually seen on allegorical figures of 'Father Clyde' (the personification of the river which brought the city much of its wealth).

Attaining the unattainable....to dream the impossible dream....or in a much more prosaic turn of phrase, nailing jelly to a tree. Today's artwork strikes that theme. It's based on an old Chinese folktale. From the artist's website: "The tale narrates the story of a group of monkeys who, perched on a branch of a tree, catch sight of the reflection of the moon in a pool of water below. In an attempt to touch what they perceive to be the real moon, the monkeys decide to link their arms andThe artist found inspiration in the geography, vegetation, and wildlife of her home countries of Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela.

Escultura homenaje a las bateleras en Pasai Donibane, nombre con el que se denominaba al oficio que realizaban las mujeres, dueas de bateles, barcos o botes, que consista en el transporte de cargas, el paso de mercancas y personas de una a otra orilla, as como el acarreo y venta de lastre para los buques. Adems se encargaban del atoaje, que consista en el remolque mediante chalupas a remo, para facilitar su entrada a puerto y colaboraban tambin con los astilleros en la botadura de los barcos remolcndolos hasta el lugar de fondeo.
