Weaving hundreds of pipe cleaners, Salvador Dominguez creates functional forms in color palettes that pay homage to the nostalgic vibrancy of his upbringing in southern California and Mexico.

Today's Flickr photo with the most hits: this little resin head of Michelangelo's 'David'. It was a TK Maxx purchase years and years ago. I did, subsequently, go to see him in person when I visited Florence, in 2014.

Rank Bajin sitting in the back of El Fideldo behind Lobey Dosser on a statue on Woodlands Road in Glasgow celebrating the life and work of the artist William 'Bud' Neill. Erected in 1992, it was created by Tony Morrow and Nick Gillan and was funded by public donations.

The sculpture at Metrostation Weesperplein honors the old Weesperpoortstation (18431939), the former railway station from which to depart to Utrecht and Arnhem. Carved in sandstone, this artwork was erected in 1941.
Created by architect Piet Kramer in the Amsterdamse School style, it displays three layered historical locomotives representing the railways evolution.
The first steam train between Amsterdam and Haarlem (sept. 20, 1839) drove at the speed of 30 km/h and was pulled by a locomotive called De Arend. In 1908, the countrys first electric train took off between Rotterdam Hofplein and Scheveningen Kurhaus. It was powered by a 10,000-volt AC system from a dedicated power plant.
The first diesel train followed in 1934, running from Amsterdam to Arnhem.

The bear pit at Sheffield Botanic Gardens was built in 1836 to house Bruin, a black bear kept there to 'entertain' visitors.
The pit later became 'Yorkshire's largest compost pit'.
The bear statue, beloved of Sheffield children for the last twenty years, is made of steel and is 2.4 metres tall.

My sister asked me to make her a dragon. She didn't say what *kind* of dragon. Our last name is Guernsey, so I created a Guernsey cow-dragon. It kinda looks like a cow, but it has ridges on its back, leathery wings, and a scorpion tail. Further, it has spiky metallic teats that, if you survived milking, would likely yield a potent alcoholic milk drink.

Yes, I'm in a trance or something, it's incredible.

What I wonder is if knowing this can rescue us from hell or if it condemns us completely.

John doesn't make himself safe from crime, and neither do I. I feel that by knowing this without a doubt, we can stop committing it and experience freedom before we die.

Sculptor Zheng Lu has captured the dynamic, flowing movement of water in a most unlikely medium of stainless steel.

New vase - the deep black, textured surface, rugged, earthy, evokes the raw, organic beauty of charred wood. Love how the fine cracks across its body adds a sense of age and character, as if it has been forged by fire and time.

An ecclesiastical mask on St Mungo's Church on Parson Street in the Townhead area of Glasgow. The church was designed by George Goldie, and was originally built in 1841. I've always presumed it represents St Mungo, but I'm in no way certain about this. Whoever it is, he doesn't look like someone you'd want to get on the wrong side of.
