Some material experiments with mycelium substrate growing in sawdust and flour, to make fungi sculptures from moulds.
I am using a proprietary mix from the Dutch company Kineco , although I know I can potentially make this myself with some spores and sawdust.
Will report back in about 7 days with whatever comes of these.
Sculpture25 years ago this month (1999) and I recall photographing this installation 'Ambit' by Alison Wilding. It was located in the river below Wearmouth Bridge. The dynamic floating sculpture looked quite impressive when first unveiled but it was in a poor location and many people never actually saw it in it's lit-up state. Technical issues too led to problems and it's stay was short-lived.

I walked back from Modern One along the Water of Leith, stopping to admire the Antony Gormley sculptures "6 Times".
Seconds after I took the last of these pictures I noticed a kingfisher on a log. It flew away but I saw it perch elsewhere. By the time I'd got my (proper) camera out it was off again. Still, at least I saw it!

Antinoo, giovane bitinio amato dall'imperatore Adriano (117-138 d.C.), perse la vita nelle acque del Nilo in circostanze oscure.
Dopo la morte, per volont dell'imperatore, gli furono tributati onori divini e la sua immagine fu celebrata attraverso opere che lo ritraevano assimilato ad una dio.
Nel rilievo, Antinoo raffigurato come il dio dei boschi, Silvano, coronato di un ramo di pino, con la falcula nella mano destra ed un cane al seguito.
Nella cornice agreste del rilievo, dinanzi all'imponente figura di Antinoo, spicca un altare, su cui apposta, in caratteri greci, un'iscrizione che restituisce la firma dell'autore dell'opera:

Il rilievo, di grande pregio artistico, proviene da un'area residenziale e decorava presumibilmente un sacrario dedicato al giovane divinizzato.
