Some days, we feel weve lost

Some days, we feel weve lost our wings.
Other days, we find them in each other.

Glass wing sculpture by Fernanda dAgostino.

sculpture of the Buddhist disciple Phra Sankachai, Thai, late 17th century

Very moved by this little book I remember: Scotlands Covid Memorial by Alec Finlay, George Logan & Roxani Krystalli, just published by Morning Star/Stewed Rhubarb.

A living project about support, about kindness, and about honouring those who have died as well as those left behindbereaved or still very ill or sometimes both.

Please tell me I can salvage blocks I never got to use but I opened years ago.

I just unearthed a box with two small blocks and a bunch of tools. I wanted to sculpt little things but never got around to it, due to lack of space.

I dug a fingernail into one and it left a mark.

This detail on the streets of , a simple movement, the candelabra moved by the sheer force of the wind, proved to be a rather comforting disturbance in stark contrast to the serene resolute permanence of the Parrquia de la Santssima Creu.

Sculptures of Love (top), Faith (lower left) and Hope (lower right) on the 1899 Art Nouveau style hall of Saint Andrew's East Church on Alexandra Parade in Glasgow. Between the three figures is an inscription which says "Greatest of these is love", a sentiment that's as true today as it was when it was carved.

Rather taken with this wooden carving of Howls Moving Castle by Clint Rose (who I know as TimberAnew on Twitch)

Lost sculpture of the mid 20th Century.
In 1956, Manchester City Council commissioned two sculptures to be placed in Wythenshawe schools. This one, named Acrobats, was made from cement covered fibreglass by the Yorkshire sculptor Austin Andrew Wright in 1957. It was set in a courtyard behind the school. Very few photographs of it exist and this model is based on those photographs and my memory of it.
About 1975, it was damaged, removed and lost forever.

A trademark shield on the corner of the former Clydesdale Colour and Oil Works on Cook Street in the Tradestone area of Glasgow. This refers to the Stag brand of Blacklock and MacArthur, which was founded 1876. Their advertising slogan was "Ask for the stag brand".

the geode like cave was almost an afterthought I suggested but it ended up being chosen for the final piece :) and a pretty blue dragon to match!

Made a work-in-progress collage of my Little Red Riding Hood illustration.

Modeled and rendered in MagicaCSG, post-processed in PhotoScape X.

My take on Little Red Riding Hood.
Really enjoyed this. It brought me back to the days when I was experimenting with styles for magazine illustrations.

It's great that this coat of arms has been preserved, but it's in a rather odd position at the base of a side wall where it's easily missed and it could have been placed in a much more prominent location.

A rather wonderful Glasgow Coat of Arms embedded in the wall of new flats built on the site of the 1920s Whiteinch Public Baths building.

The Art Deco style font used for the city's motto at the bottom is just so elegant, and I love the animal heads on either side, which I think are either seals or otters.
