The Doors of the Baptistery of Florence, also known as the Gates of Paradise, are among the most famous masterpieces of the Italian Renaissance. Located at the Florence Baptistery of St. John, these magnificent bronze doors were designed by Lorenzo Ghiberti and completed in 1452, after 27 years.

Working on a new sculpture for a museum
I've always been intrigued by this face set into a brick wall behind some flats in the Broomhill area of Glasgow, but I've never been able to work out if it's purely decorative or if there is a deeper meaning behind its presence.
Courage in the 1930s. This is one of the four statues representing the cardinal virtues courage, justice, temperance and prudence that was soon to be installed at the entrance of the new courthouse. The courthouse was done in 1933, drawn by local architect Egill Reimers, and still houses Hordaland District Court to this day. Next to Courage is one of the two sculptors, likely Nic Schill, observing his work.
