This is the work of sculptor YJ Park. It is unreal. And definitely in the uncanny valley territory. Sometimes people blow my mind.

Today's animal from Glasgow's architecture is this wonderful little dragon nestled into a corner above a doorway of Cottiers in the West End of the city. This former church was designed by William Leiper and was built in the 1860s, but this dragon looks like it's a newer addition.

In 2014, after several months at lost time, I finally managed to complete my tribute to Cthulhu, drawn from the work of American writer H. P. Lovecraft. Many reuse materials were needed to assemble this light sculpture.

In the 70s, artist duo Helena and Axel van der Kraan made mechanically movable sculptures. This one was gifted in 2018, and Axel was invited to discuss the works condition and look into the placement of the hands, violin (missing here) and violin bow. Practice makes perfect.

With all the snow around in Glasgow at the moment, it's good to see that Charles Rennie MacKintosh has found himself a hat!
I found out there was a Patrick Dougherty Twig Sculpture nearby and went to visit it this morning. Not an overstated piece. Blends well with the urban surroundings as well as the preserve it sets near. Such a strange architectural sense being inside yet the texture is rich.
