One of my alltime favorite things in is this sculpture of smiling LaFontaine from 1983, near the little Ranelagh neighborhood in the northwest. I don't know the fables of his that feature the raven, coin, and fox, but love to see them all. Looks like people touch the fox's ears for good luck or from affection.
He is so grumpy and I adore that for him
Boxing, one of a trail of eleven sports-themed sculptures erected to commemorate the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. This one is on Kelvinhaugh Street in the west of the city.

This feline is charged with overseeing the tranquility of the Sculpterra Winery. Unfortunately, the wine master likes to ply his trade on the cat and the cat generally is napping by 11AM. So much for controlling any unruly tasters.

A chessboard has 64 squares. On this vertical chessboard, two are missing, right at the top in the middle. This is where the king and queen should stand. But they couldn't stand there. They would fall. The chessboard is a sculpture for moving thoughts.

Ce matin je vous prsente mon kiosque au festival Kaput l'an dernier. Kaput c'est un festival d'artistes rcuprateurs. J'ai fait application pour cette anne aussi. Je n'ai pas eu de rponse encore ! Je croise mes doigts. J'ai ador aller ce festival. C'est trs diffrent des symposiums d'arts. L'ambiance est trs festive et joyeuses.

As it's St George's Day today, I thought I'd post one of my favourite sculptures of Saint George fighting a dragon. It's from the University of Glasgow Memorial Chapel and was ceated in the 1920. I love the rather worried look the sculptor, Archibald Dawson, has given St George as the dragon bites into his shield!
