Mon prochain sympo se droule prs de la mer. Le thme cette anne est: l'empreinte du vent. On invite les artistes prsenter une oeuvre.

J'ai dj fait un petit voilier qui vogue sur l'eau mais j'ai aussi eu l'ide de faire ce petit chandelier. Son ombre est trs mignonne, je vous montre quand j'arrive faire une belle photo dans la vraie noirceur. J'aime tant jouer avec les ombres. Je ne sais pas lequel je prsenterai.

CHOUCAIR with Riet Wijnen

Choucairs interests included genetic science, the infinite, the Arabic poetry form Qasida and Sufi philosophy. According to her, the Islamic rejection of the pictorial image led to the essential search for what one wanted to express, and was for her a fundamental way to understand Arabic intellectual thinking which she translated a.o. into abstract sculptures and paintings.

Wijnen visited the estate in Choucairs last apartment in the Qatari neighbourhood in Beirut. There she was confronted by a large amount of works, photos and documents in French and Arabic, languages she does not speak, write nor read. This visit led to her development of non-linguistic research methods, an inquiry into how one might speak nearby* and position themselves in the work. Wijnen will share works and tools currently in development: a publication, sculptural dinnerware and a series of fermentation pots. These works will also feed into a fictional conversation with Choucair, which is part of a long term cycle, since 2015, titled Sixteen Conversations on Abstraction. *Trinh T. Minhha

Que de merveilles hier, que de rencontres, de dcouvertes et retrouvailles fort sympathiques !
Tout d'abord, La journe de l'estampe contemporaine qui avait lieu place Saint Sulpice Paris. Avec des uvres de Caroline Polikar et Jeanne Smith. Comme je n'ai pas russi photographier les hybridations gravures sur plexiglass / photographies et peintures de Caroline et Jeanne, j'en ai fait une interprtation toute personnelle (photo 1), Jeanne Smith (photos 2 et 3).
Avec galement des uvres de Max (photo 4), de  Anna Kobylarz (photo 5), de Ximena (photo 6), de Katherine Zimla (photo 7) et de mc Beguet (photo 8).
Puis vernissage de l'exposition de Rak et Mlanie Bourget l'atelier Veron, comme toujours au top, leurs expositions ! (photos 9 14).
