Another beautiful and interesting sculpture from TurnPark! This is called Heliograph 2, a call out to a distance signaling system used in the 18th and 19th century, in which flashes of sun reflected from a mirror were used to spell out messages in Morse code observed at a distance. This variation involves mirrors mounted on a structure which rotates with the wind, and allows the mirrors to tilt in response to the wind. I was lucky enough to capture some lovely moments.The artist is VadimStandard Bearer, Aztec Art (c.1450 - c.1521),

Princess X by Constantin Brncui. Intended to be a female figure reduced to its most abstract form, this sculpture was banned from the 1920 Salon des Indpendants exhibition. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that just before the opening, either Matisse or Picasso shouted, "Here it is --the phallus!"

In the water 2/3Good morning Fedi friends. Pretty chilly old morning here in Melbourne at around 4c, the same as up home - but already its a beautiful sunny day & will reach a lovely 16c. Ill only need my coat this morning.
A lot of people seemed to like the 3 pics I shared of the kinetic sculpture yesterday, thank you for the boosts. Ive been looking online about the artist (Phil Rice), well worth having a look. Hes done some amazing work.
We were both extremely tired & footsore last night but slept well & feel raring to go again, just not quite so much. We have been deciding what to do today & had thought to take the same Frankston line & just get off at one of the beaches along the way. In the light of day though weve changed our minds & will be having a foray down to St Kilda for a lunch of fish & chips somewhere. St Kilda is where I lived 50yrs or so ago in a street behind Fitzroy St., so old haunts will be remembered. Looking forward to today.

Nouveau projet de sculpture en poirier en cours. Je sais trop ce que a va donner, car j'ai pas trop anticip la sculpture des pattes vu de face. Je sors moiti de ma zone de confort, c'est bien, et c'est bien aussi parce que j'ai pas perdu de temps m'y remettre.
