Sculpture

Started sculpting a jackal head in VR as well for characters and 3D-printed drawing references. I am feeling very confident in sculpting from reference images.

I still have a wolf and a horse head in the pipeline of animal heads I want to sculpt.

Love this Art Nouveau date plaque on a keystone above the entrance to Albert Chambers on Bath Street in central Glasgow.

An hour-long sculpt I made while testing a VR recording setup. I plan on making different animal heads for sculpting starting points of characters and to 3D print for drawing references.

This pantherine base used a lot of lioness pictures as reference and still has some tweaks that need to be made, but is pretty good for being my second sculpt and for being done in about an hour.

Oscillating between reality and fantasy, Quentin Garels sculptures portray creatures threatened by overhunting, displaying them on the wall or atop metal rods like trophies.

OnGuard's headquarters was located in a cool old castle. I made many icons, logos and splash screens for their software projects.

Cicero (the Roman orator), Galileo (the Renaissance astronomer), James Watt (the Scottish Enlightenment inventor and engineer) and Homer (the ancient Greek poet and story-teller) on the former Glasgow High School building on Elmbank Street. Designed by James Mossman, one of Glasgow's greatest architectural sculptors, they were created in 1878.

I was pleased to award abstract sculptor Bernard Blaise the Prix de la Critique at the Salon des ralits nouvelles 2024 in Paris.

In this paper, I reviewed the artists career and work, and shared a few thoughts on abstract sculpture. (French speakers only, sorry!)

What a weird day.

I made this emerald pony about a week ago. It's filled with neon gas so its simultaneously orange and green. Sort of a brown neon with the filtering out of the red.

Been busy with some bill paying work lately, which is nice! Fun work, neon work, really signage though. Exciting projects I think.

Excited to get back to making these- and to a few other ideas- I really wanna make that WebLink neon.

My art brain gears are turning, and they are turning faster as things feel a bit more dystopian. What a time to make art. What a time to make. The sun will continue to rise.

Unfortunately, Im not artistic.

I thought you all might like a break today, so heres a photo of a new sculpture my wife got for the living room.
