When you are in the Garnethill area of Glasgow, keep an eye out for the small bird sculptures on the top of the lamp posts. There's over 150 of them and they are part of an art installation called Chookie Burdies created by Shona Kinloch in 1993.

I have been on a bit of a hiatus from social media, but still been working away in the pottery and experimenting with porcelain and light.

This is the Grave of Maria Magdalena Langhans by Johann August Nahl. Nahl was hosted by the pastor and his pregnant 28yo wife Maria Magdalena when she died during childbirth. Moved by this, he decided, by himself and without being commissioned to do so by anyone to make this grave for her. It became a huge place of pilgrimage for the next 150 years.

Fall of the Rebel Angels, carved out of a single piece of marble in 1740 by Italian sculptor Agostino Fasolato, it depicts 60 fallen angels.

The astonishing piece, comprising more than sixty sculpted figures, evocatively embodies the eternal struggle between good, represented by the archangel Michael with his flaming sword, and the forces of evil spearheaded by Lucifer, who leads the rebel angels.
