Love this decorative carving on the corbel of a tenement oriel window on Saracen Street in Possilpark. These types of decorations are not typical of Glasgow, but you do find them occasionally on buildings across the city. This one is amongst the best I've come across so far.

Love this beautifully carved bat-like creature on James Salmon Junior's Art Nouveau Mercantile Chambers on Bothwell Street in Glasgow. I've no idea what it signifies or why it's there.

I Just Start Kissing Them: Satirical Trump Statue Ignites Debate Across U.S.

Satirical Trump Statues Pop Up in U.S. Cities, Confronting Power and Accountability

In recent weeks, life-sized statues of former President Donald Trump have appeared in cities like Philadelphia and Portland. These bronze-colored statues, complete with a smirk and suggestive hand gesture, are labeled In Honor of a Lifetime of Sexual Assault and feature Trumps infamous Access Hollywood quote, where he described making advances on women without consent.

Each statue has been placed near a nude female figure, creating a provocative visual commentary on celebrity privilege and power dynamics.

In Philadelphias Maja Park, Trumps statue was set behind Maja, a nude sculpture by Gerhard Marcks, before city workers quickly removed it. Similarly, in Portland, a Trump statue was placed near Kvinneakt, another well-known nude sculpture. These installations are part of an anonymous artists mission to spark dialogue on issues often glossed over due to resistance fatigue.

For more insight into the motivation behind these satirical Trump statues, read this on New York Magazines Intelligencer.

The Danish artist Thomas Dambo is known for his work with recycled wood & discarded materials. Especially his works with towering troll sculptures in public spaces all over the world. Dambo uses mythological inspiration & constructs large-scale installations, often hidden in forests, to encourage viewers to embark on a playful journey to discover them.

A little update on the baby elephant I'm modeling using the free SDF Prototyper Blender add-on

Added a few non-SDF elements: the tusks and ears, because the current version of SDF Prototyper doesn't really allow creation of such shapes yet.

Next steps: mesh the SDF object, join with the non-SDF objects, then remesh in Sculpt Mode, and add some minor refinements.

The Monolith is the epicentre of the Vigeland Installation in Oslo, and it features 121 figures rising over 14 metres high. Theres also a sundial and fountains on the site.

Here is the latest fron the Artrocity Studio: an unusual snail.

I had some downtime at work this past week, so I started sketching a new absurd idea: snails with household appliances on their backs instead of shells.

I just finished the fist snail, which, for some reason, has a crockpot on its back.

Love this sculpture on the Wallace Street facade of the former Southern District Fire Station in Glasgow. This building was designed by A.B. MacDonald and was constructed in the 1910s.

Making a first model using the free SDF Prototyper (V2) add-on for Blender.

The add-on uses Geometry Nodes, and since the UI is a bit quirky, I find it easier to change parameters and connect nodes directly in Geo Nodes.

More updates will follow in this thread.

Two of these majestic stone sculptures stand guard at the entrance to the now abandoned administration building on the . A little graffiti on them, but still guarding what remains of the building. In many ways, a wasted opportunity as it would have made an amazing mixed use lofts / retail space. Now it is boarded up and damaged.

For inexplicable reasons, all Artrocity Studio birds have antlers. I decided to dig deeper to explore this evolutionary curiosity.

After exhaustive research, I found the "missing link," a squirrel-sized dinosaur with feathers and...antlers!

The Curator at the Nottingham Natural History Museum, Wollaton Hall, U.K., palentologist , named it "Cornucervinumavis Saliens" or "Leaping Antler Bird."

It is placed in the Mesozoic Era, some 125 million years ago.

This priceless authentic, simulated fossil could revolutionize how science rationalizes these weirdo birds.
