An enormous zipper peels back a facade in Milan, and a man squeezes into a cardboard box painted on a bridge in Bayreuth. This dragon sculpture is fantastic. I love it!
Really worth the drive and short hike.

I thought this hummingbird sculpture in the Overland Park Arboretum was lovely. More info in the comments.
This will be my last post (for now) about my KC visit, though I still have some nature shots that Ill share for Silent Sunday and other hashtags. It was an emotionally challenging trip, though I was happy to see family and glad I had time to explore and capture some scenes around the city. Hope you enjoyed them.

Sea dream (2013).
The sail.
There are some amazingly detailed decorative panels on the early Edwardian Pavilion Theatre in Glasgow. Made from terracotta (rather than sculpted in stone), they feature a variety of subjects, including this one with a central grotesque which appears to be based on Puck, the mischievous prankster of Celtic mythology

The Canberra Kinetic Sculpture Race is almost here!
On 7 November, the Carillon and Lake Burley Griffin will be transformed into a glorious battlefield of pedal power, questionable engineering, elaborate costumes, and kinetic sculptures.
Whether you're building a machine, joining a team, volunteering, or just coming along to watch the chaos unfold now is the time to get involved.

Only one part of a portrait by Fbio Gomes Trindade keeps growing: the girls hair, which is a real tree. Elsewhere in this collection, the greenery is sometimes alive and sometimes just paint. Sculpture"Man's Best Friend" by Jean-Bernard Germe.

Vertigo.
This was one of my early low-poly experiments, back in the mid-2000s, using 3ds Max.
Love this amazing piece of architectural decoration over the entrance to a Victorian Townhouse on Hyndland Road in Glasgow. I'm not too sure if it's been cast in some way or sculpted, but if it's been carved from stone, it's phenomenal bit of craftsmanship. Even if it's been cast, it's still pretty impressive.

Loneliness
Solitude used to be so special
till you came between us.
I think of you when Im with her,
and she knows that I do.
And its not the same anymore.
Nor can it ever be.

Sign of the Times
They cast their shadows in bronze
at the end of their days:
tall and thin like Giacomettis men.
We stood erect, but the sun was against us.
Belvedere
(for B.)
The evening came sprinkled
with particles of poetry:
feelings gripped so tightly,
they seemed they could fit
within a glimmer in an eye
or into the trace of a smile.
But when preserved in words,
such moments can last forever.
And they often form the most
beautiful blue crystals.
The Enigma
Where are you running to
Nowhere.
Who are you running from
No one.
Then what are you doing
Running.
Just running.
Crag
He was a barren crag of a man.
Open to feelings and stripped bare by them,
but unable to move out of the way.

Excited to see these color bars from when we emptied the silver furnace. It looks like the purple darkened a bunch after annealing the bar.... And some silver got into it when I was making the bar (I gathered over a bunch of the silver glass and messed up the bar twice, folding it back onto itself each time).
I may be running out of red phosphor to make the nice red and green warm mixed white, but I have almost a kilo of "3800 K" white and I'm mixin up some.
I want to coat a test tube soon with the silver colors. It would be more beige than brown I think.
I am super happy to hear that people around Urbanglass are really curious about the color. Everyone that used it wants to melt it again.
I think it's only about $10 a pound in materials an shipping to make it- not including the cost to rent the furnace. Most silver color bars are over $40 per pound. I do love the communal aspect of the public furnace
