Silos main body has a higher content of coarse sand aggregate in its concrete and by wire brushing and rough sanding a rough surface texture is created. The lighting element has a smaller fine sand content and is wet polished in multiple steps resulting, in contrast with the main body, in a smooth finish.

Sci-fi drone design update
Added a few more little widgets to finish the model.
I think this time I'm going to export the model to Blender for rendering with Cycles. MagicaCSG includes a great path tracing renderer, but it lacks textures.
Some plants today. Our snake plant at home has been blooming. It's fragrant flowers are dripping with nectar- but since they are indoors, no hummingbirds or bees to slurp it up. Also the plant next to the snake plant is also taking off since I have been watering it so much.
At BrooklynGlass I went to get some neon tubes this morning and saw this neon tube double vase. I should really pitch a quick one day intro class just making lil vases like this out of tubing- so fun!

Today I stopped at the park in Kutztown to see the Keith Haring sculpture Figure Balancing on Dog. Haring grew up in Kutztown where I went to middle and high school. My younger brother and a number of friends knew him but I can only remember seeing him from a distance and that was before he reached high school.
Kumi Yamashita, a Japanese-American , transforms and shadow into using objects like nails and cut metals. Her works cast lifelike silhouettes from specific angles. Art educator Kendra Danielson shares Yamashita's techniques with students, encouraging them to explore with their creativity.

We're getting somewhere. Started adding details to make it look fancier.
Love the non-destructive nature of SDF modeling. It enabled me to completely change the grill without any pain.
