3D sculpting in VR is a different ballgame. The added sense of depth that 6DOF offers is very addictive. Sculpting on a flat screen suddenly feels like a previous chapter.
The fellow 3D sculptor who tried to convince me of VR sculpting has just made a multi-part Modeler video tutorial in which he recreates my recent Spongebob model ( ).

I bent and pumped one of the 5mm tubes I coated with warm white phosphor and another with pinky purple phosphor and by golly with Hg they get BRIGHT!
Two eating mini ponies, the warm white I added mercury to and the pinky purple I left with Argon (with a touch of Ne to help it turn on it cold weather). I am building out my mini herd to send westward to an outdoor mini gallery in Helper, Utah. Planning on putting them in an infinity mirror situation, so the brightness will be an asset here. Grazing neon ponies forever!
Never ceases to amaze me at how effective a tiny drop of mercury is in brightening up a tube. Next on the docket is a neon filled Black Stallion with blacklight glass, as well as a Cobalt blue and Ruby red "Bluecifer". I gotta get Ali to draw it rearing so it matches the Denver sculpture.

Last week there was this exhibit at where they got those 's made with 's that feature the 12 Chinese animals, which are pretty cool. One thing I noticed is that most sculptures are named "(animal) King" or "Golden (animal)" but this one is called "Pig of love and peace" which is quite fitting.
