Have to rest now, but pleased

Have to rest now, but pleased with the glaze on Butt Scuplture so far. Most of the work is on the willy side rather than butt side so far, so this is getting marked as sensitive.

I'm really pleased with how this is looking, though. I was so worried the glaze would ruin it, but it's starting to make the work feel all worth while.

The bubbles and dust are a complete MENACE tho.

Modano Immortalized Mike Modanos Speech

The Big Elk, also known as (meaning "big elk" in Norwegian), is the world's second-tallest sculpture of an elk/moose (Alces alces). It is near the village of Atna in Stor-Elvdal, Hedmark, Norway. It held the title of the tallest moose sculpture for 4 years, from its completion in October 2015 until October 2019 - on our way back to Larvik we finally made it to this great sculpture close to National Road 3.

Discover the mind-blowing art of matchcraft, pioneered over decades by a self-taught Australian sculptor
By Bree Dwyer

Len Hughes's obsession with matchstick models began in his 20s when doctors told him he would one day need a wheelchair. Sixty years later, his incredible creations have been viewed by millions around the world.

The unfortunate fish.

Absolutely love this grotesque on the former Coats Memorial Church in Paisley. Built in 1894, it was designed in a Gothic Revival style by H.J. Blanc and it's covered in some fantastic Gothic-inspired sculptures and carvings. It's now used as an events venue.

A great view from Brussel's Atomium, showing the wide and beautiful landscape while delivering the proof what a masterpiece this construction was when being built for the Expo in 1958!

Here is a sculpture I did off of a sketch Tim Burton did of a starved tortured monster forever after his own bait. The little people bait glow in the dark just like an Anglerfish.

Here is a group of Groots I made as pins and magnets. I sculpted as sad happy and angry.

Super niche question
Has any of you heard of Zamak (ZP5) alloy usage in fine art casting (Zinc + some copper and 4% aluminum).
I'm surprised to have heard so much about Bronze, Brass, but never about this lightweight alloy that holds fine details when poured into a mould. According to my grandpa, plastic kind of replaced Zamak for anything lightweight. But for fine arts seems like it could be a cost effective alternative to Bronze.

After a day and a half of rain, the weather was kind and gave us some sunshine to end the week with. Now the days are long enough for a post walk work, I took the opportunity to go and visit this sculpture up close for the first time, in the Stockingfield Bridge Park. Really beautiful artwork called The Voice by Louise McVey.

Mexican artist crushes Tesla under giant stone head

The other day Yorky bent this 18mm lite green wriggler and it is developing a really nice snake to it! The snaking happens from a small amount of impurities being left behind. Its very difficult to achieve on purpose.

Yorky is learning lots. I only helped him with one weld and the electrodes on this one. Its nice seeing him fix his own mistakes. Working with large diameters of italian glass is not easy, but it sure does look nice!

Turquoise day!

The glow from this plain, basic shade of turquoise is probably my favorite among them. It makes a cool, white. It definitely isn't the richest of turquoises, but I do like the light it emits.

This batch is funny.... I guess you get what you pay for- these ones are imported from Asia and they kept making these weird stains- even after pumping and before adding mercury. Fun watching the stains move around quickly as the tube is pumped.

Eindrucksvoll.

Who were these two people

The "Sudanese Man" was an actual man Charles Cordier met on his travels to Algeria in 1856. Cordier probably met the "Woman from the French Colonies" when he worked in Paris in 1861. She was from the French colony of Antilles.
