His life and works are celebrated in the Wyllieum in Greenock, which opened in 2024.
A Monument to Maternity by George Wyllie on the the site of the former Rottenrow Maternity Hospital in Glasgow. It was originally created for Mayfest in 1996, and was permanently installed at its current site in 2004. Born in Shettleston in 1921, Wyllie was a self-taught artist and pioneering social sculptor. He created a number of Glasgow's quirkiest and best-loved public sculptures.

The People's Palace on Glasgow Green. Tbe sculptures along the roofline were created by William Kellock Brown are allegorical figures. The six lower ones represent Shipbuilding (holding a model boat), Mathematical Sciences (holding a book and dividers), Sculpture (holding a figurine), Painting (holding a palette and brush), Engineering (holding a crown wheel and pulley) and the Textile Industry (holding a distaff).

I think I'm nearing 100 now (since starting in the last month or two) and so I've started planning out a couple art projects to celebrate all these couples, their lovely locks, and the locksport community.
Plan:
- acquire a thousand love locks
- catalogue all of them with photos and notes for a gallery
- work with welders/artists on metal structures to hang the locks (like tree & flower shapes)
- permits and location for installation
- relocate locks to installation
- add lockboxes for love notes & geocaches
- convince lovers and locksporters to keep adding to it until it becomes a Seattle landmark
