Brick Sculpture, 2024

Shot on 35mm Fomapan 200, developed in Rodinal

Two of these majestic stone sculptures stand guard at the entrance to the now abandoned administration building on the . A little graffiti on them, but still guarding what remains of the building. In many ways, a wasted opportunity as it would have made an amazing mixed use lofts / retail space. Now it is boarded up and damaged.

For inexplicable reasons, all Artrocity Studio birds have antlers. I decided to dig deeper to explore this evolutionary curiosity.

After exhaustive research, I found the "missing link," a squirrel-sized dinosaur with feathers and...antlers!

The Curator at the Nottingham Natural History Museum, Wollaton Hall, U.K., palentologist , named it "Cornucervinumavis Saliens" or "Leaping Antler Bird."

It is placed in the Mesozoic Era, some 125 million years ago.

This priceless authentic, simulated fossil could revolutionize how science rationalizes these weirdo birds.

Prosperity, Prudence, Industry, and Fortune on the facade of Mercantile Chambers on Bothwell Street in Glasgow. Built in 1897, this building was designed by James Salmon Junior, while the sculptures were created by Francis Derwent Wood. I've never been to sure why, but the figures become increasingly disrobed as you move from left to right across the building.

Started sculpting a jackal head in VR as well for characters and 3D-printed drawing references. I am feeling very confident in sculpting from reference images.

I still have a wolf and a horse head in the pipeline of animal heads I want to sculpt.

Love this Art Nouveau date plaque on a keystone above the entrance to Albert Chambers on Bath Street in central Glasgow.

An hour-long sculpt I made while testing a VR recording setup. I plan on making different animal heads for sculpting starting points of characters and to 3D print for drawing references.

This pantherine base used a lot of lioness pictures as reference and still has some tweaks that need to be made, but is pretty good for being my second sculpt and for being done in about an hour.

Oscillating between reality and fantasy, Quentin Garels sculptures portray creatures threatened by overhunting, displaying them on the wall or atop metal rods like trophies.

And finished piece. This one has surprisingly a lot of tiny details that really makes it pop

The figure CAN stand on it's own, but safety has a display platform with support :)
