'Artists in Love for the Love

This piece is called 'Bird in Space', and I saw this copy a few weeks ago in Den Haag. Constantin Brncui created more than 15 versions of it over a 20 year period in the early C20th. It's often considered to be a foundational work of the Modernist Movement, and its flowing, abstract form became the subject of a celebrated US legal battle over whether sculpture needed to be figurative to qualify as 'art'.

I love guerrilla art!

Dear Lovely Peeps, I thought this was interesting!

No one knows anything about them, but if you are adventurous enough, you might meet the mysterious Men of in .

Each figure, made from rock from the Cunene area, are all different, in different positions (one is even hanging from a rock face!), all enclosed in a circle of small rocks, and all with an inscription with the number of the sculpture (there are at least thirty!), the title of piece, and a brief message indicating the direction the stone man is going.

This is my character Flux. I sculpted him way back last spring, but now finally got around to painting him. Some more notes on the process below

I'm trying to find my rhythm of making art, and writing blog posts about it at the same time-my latest post is about my cardinal tiles.

Now that I have that written and posted I'm back in the clay studio! Hope you all are having a great day!
