This sculpture contains 3 pieces a ground plate, internal and external 'tower'. By rotating and/or shifting the 2 towers it is possible to give the sculpture different set ups and appearances. Place a small candle on the inside and turn this piece into a Brutal lantern.

Tucked in a somewhat hidden area in Downtown San Diego (a very narrow passage between the Marriott and the Convention Center)

I have titled this project "The Invaders." Its a collection of freeform three-dimensional interpretations of landers (machines designed to land on the surface of a celestial body) created by space agencies.
The models are closer to a DIY project than a symbol of high technology. They serve as a reminder to put our sense of triumph or progress into perspective and reconnect with the fragility of our human condition.
This craft draws inspiration from the design of Philae, the ESA lander that embarked in 2015 to explore comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko.

This relief is a 1945 liberation monument at the Weesperzijde. The inscription means Weesperzijde Quarter Liberation. It shows a woman breaking chains, holding a child, with a defeated serpent belowsymbols of freedom and the end of oppression. A lion represents the Netherlands, and an airplane above likely refers to the Allied forces.
Such reliefs were placed in Amsterdam after World War II to mark the end of the war and honor the victims. The year 1945 marks the moment of liberation.

A small model inspired by the Lunar Lander of the ESA, a European spacecraft that never saw the light of day due to a lack of agreement between the various partners.
As with art, the space sector is often dependent on public policies and their changing directions. Many projects thus never progress beyond the concept stage and remain as images which, when accumulated, shape our techno-scientific imagination.

Squaring the Circle - Series of kurinuki ceramic sculptures grapples with the paradox of presence and absence. The hollow space - created by the forceful insertion of a round peg into a square block of clay - is the sculpture itself, a void imbued with meaning. The subsequent carving away of material is a quest to reveal the hollow aftermark, yet in doing so, the voids containment dissolves, and the sculptures essence is lost.
This delicate balance between revelation and erasure transforms the act of making into a profound meditation:

A beautifully sculpted boat carrying elements from the Glasgow Coat of Arms above a door of the Kelvingrove Art Gallery in the West End of Glasgow, which opened in 1901. Similar boats can be seen on buildings across Glasgow from the same period.

Another sculpture. This is an Enchanted Tiki Parrot Barker, I am making it as a magnet, giving him a wooden Tiki feel, like a Witco.. I still need to make a mold and cast him in Resin. I will share pics soon of him finished.
