I Got the Size Wrong (12 Photos)

Six public sculptures in Prague, Budapest, St Helens and Bilbao, each photographed once from a few feet away and once from far back.Dysfunctional coupleI really like these twonot touching each other, barely acknowledging one another, bleakly staring straight ahead, and determined to somehow survive. This kind of socialist realism appeals to me Im just not sure if the artist was aware of how socially critical his work can be seenor if anyone was aware of it. (GDR 1960s)

Spark of Life - Teresa van Dongen

Electrochemically active bacteria can emit small electrical currents in their metabolism while cleaning waste water. This "living lamp" only needs a teaspoon of acetate every two weeks and some new water every month. A tiny bit of nourishment in return for energy and light.

My wesite:

Thursday night sculpt update.
Working at 18 instead of 12 is more clay, and harder to see the whole sculpt at the same time. I find myself stepping forward and backward while Im working to flatten out whats happening.
Its different and not as quick as I could be.
Also, I ran out of the soft free clay, so I went to get a custom sculpt of my dnd character to break down for more, and everyone talked me out of it. Im glad in a way.
So I went and added some detail to what was there instead of fleshing out the limbs and abs

Sweet nothings, urinal cakes and headless dogs: 10 artworks worth seeing at Frieze
By Eddy Frankel

Theres plenty that stands out at Regents Park this year, from antidepressant pens and an ibuprofen-dolling robotic arm to Miriam Cahns 26 years worth of self-portraiture and a 150m-year-old dinosaur skull still with embedded tooth

A quick search gives me his tables too , and very different looking sculptures, good thing I found the exact reference I was looking for (attached here).

And "Space and Earth" sounds very Noguchi too, so maybe that sculpture isn't his, but there's at least an influence. I bet you'll like his granite carvings.

I'll add some tags in case anyone can help us identify your sculptor:

This sculpture is at the National Museum of Science and Nature in Ueno Park, Tokyo. I really, really like this sculpture and I am so satisfied with this picture. I don't know anything about it but overall (see earlier post) there are really nice brutalist... things... here.
