Inspired by I thought this sculpture is unique. I was surprised to see a similar one on his photo from London. This one here is called "Terminal" and is located in front of the train station in Bochum. Created by Richard Serra. Photo from 02-2026...with snow flakes.

Two faces of the 1820s Gothic Revival Ramshorn Kirk in Glasgow. While the one on the left looks like a kindly and jovial fellow, the other looks, to put it quite bluntly, rather unhinged. You have to wonder if these were based on real people that the stone masons knew. If they were, I know which one I'd rather go for a pint with!

Back in the 90s,I used to do these life-size figure sculptures in plaster, but I got bored with knee caps, elbows, and what not.
In this piece, I was portraying an individual during a bloody motorcycle accident, while in complete peace. It was a wall piece why didn't anyone want this hanging on their wall at home
Anyway, I wanted to contradict forms and colors, and paradoxes interested me, as did the human form.
I later became interested in simplifying. I think I almost got that down now, thirty years later.
These are two photos of the same piece. It was fun to make the image look like the inside corner of a room or gallery. It is a cast, so technically it's possible, and I am now thinking about it.
Long ago, I was determined to make "the foot in tendu" and not off the floor, for example ... because the foot could be anywhere, I added a little zinger at the bottom.
I also have it without the zinger. This has been an ongoing experiment....
I had it on a pedestal once but it fell over and almost hurt someone. So this is definitely a safer wall piece!
A N Y W A Y, maybe it's not turned out enough.
I could make an adjustment. It looks more turned out IRL, LOL.

As the Chisel SDF 3D modeling tool is a Blender add-on, you can animate SDF scene elements. So I made a little build-up anim of my giraffe, rendered using Chisel's ray-marching renderer. It's not EEVEE or Cycles quality, more like viewport rendering, but being able to animate SDFs is fun.

Wow, I AM behind in posting. Here are some pictures from our visit to Opus 40 back in May. It is a large scale environmental sculpture rising out of an abandoned bluestone quarry at the foot of Overlook Mountain in Saugerties, New York. It is the life work of sculptor Harvey Fite. Covering over six acres, it consists of thousands of tons of exquisitely laid dry stone walls by the artist himself. Definitely worth a. visit if you're visiting the Check out the website for info on concerts held on the sculpture.
