Artist Thomas Doyle's mixed media creations envisioning what monuments might be put up several hundred years from now considering our infatuation with technology, are fascinatingly unsettling. The titles of the pieces add to that feeling.

I love this fan light on Alexander Skirving's 1889 Scottish Legal Life Assurance Society building in central Glasgow. I've no idea what the central sculpture's meant to represent, but the whole thing seems to be nicely in keeping with the fact the new Spider-man movie is being filmed in the city at the moment.

It has an articulated skeleton made of silver, with gold jewelry representing Bastet, and outer skin of iron. The skeleton also has breaks representing the abuse of cats during European witch scares of the middle ages. The skeleton is hidden but will be revealed as the outer iron has rusted away, in about a thousand years.
