Showcasing sculpture from around the world. "New England Gothic", steel sculpture by Wendy Klemperer on the grounds of Chesterwood, Stockbridge, MA.This summer, we visited the Dia Art Foundation in Beacon, NY, and saw an incredible sculpture by Louise Bourgeois, titled *Avenza Revisited II*. The sculptures shape and the reflections dancing across its surface gave it an otherworldly feel.
We return to sculpture, with the neoclassical artist Harriet Hosmer. A life as interesting as her works.
A stela erected by ly-hebnef at the Sobek Temple in Dahamsha, near Luxor. The uppermost register shows Sobek and a goddess, the 'Mistress of the Breeze' seated beneath the sacred ima tree. An offering table is placed befor Sobek, behind which ly- hebnef's father Pia censes the gods, followed by ly- hebnef in an attitude of prayer. Pia was the High Priest of Sobek at Dahamsha.
The second register shows Sobek, enthroned, being approached by a procession led by Pia and comprised of his family (ly-hebnef, followed by Pia's mother lya and Pia's wife, Tinet-nebu), all bringing offerings to the god. The lowest part of the stela is inscribed with the dedicatory text of ly-hrbnef, who asks Sobek to favour and protect him.

Ok y'all...I don't know which one of you did this...cause I'm sure one of you did...but well done! I mean, conceptually it's fabulous...but the sculpting skill and fabrication work Outstandingly good. Astonishingly good. That is a some serious art.
